Do you have an adoption of a child coming up and want to have a fun and unique opportunity to learn about, hold, and pet a group of furry and lovable goats? Let us bring our small herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats to your adoption day celebration for an extra-special visit from some extra-special guests!
Our Story: Our family grew from 2 siblings to 6 siblings nearly overnight in 2016. We experienced the highs and lows of the foster-to-adopt roller coaster. We remember the joy of adoption day and then the day our family adopted farm life. Life on the farm has brought us closer as a family ever since.
Our Values: Family is what you make of it. Happiness brings healing. People and animals all have value that we can celebrate.
Our Mission: Through outreach education utilizing dairy goats, our mission is to provide a memorable shared experience with adoptive families by way of experiential exploration and foster a path for families to build shared experiences through animal husbandry.
The Details:
If you are in the Texas counties of Williamson or Bell and you are having a celebration of a recent adoption of a child we will bring our small herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats to your home or other approved location. We will setup our portable corral in a safe area mutually agreed upon and provide 1-2 hours of youth supervised, controlled access to our friendly herd of goats to pet, brush, hold, and feed. We will talk about the care of our goats, their history, and their role on our farm. We will tell our story and talk about how the responsibilities of raising our animals have given our family a path to create a bond through our shared experiences.
What we need from you: Just as humans and other animals our goats are sensitive to hot pavement or asphalt. We will need to be provided a flat location on grass or dirt, free of debris and noxious weeds. Contrary to some beliefs, goats are picky eaters and are susceptible to illness from some vegetation. We will also need relatively close proximity to the corral location to park and unload our truck and 16 ft. trailer.
